Congratulations to the North Carolina Zoo on being named a finalist for the 2026 WAZA Conservation Award! The award was presented October 29 at the gala of the 81st WAZA Annual Conference in Cologne, Germany, and went to San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance.
Being recognized among the world's zoos and aquariums is a real honor, and it builds on a strong WAZA track record: the zoo won the 2021 WAZA Environmental Sustainability Award and was a Conservation Award finalist in 2025.
We'll be cheering them on again next year at the 82nd WAZA Annual Conference in Cape Town, South Africa!
